Personal Development Programme

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya conducted an Awareness Workshop on Safe Migration in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the International Service Avenue of the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya. The workshop was held on the 18th of November 2025 at the CGU Auditorium.

The AI Aptitude Accelerator Workshop was successfully held on 27th October 2025 at the Auditorium of the Career Guidance Unit, University of Kelaniya. The event was organized by the Career Guidance Unit, University of Kelaniya in collaboration with the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) and the LEO Club of University of Kelaniya.

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya successfully conducted the “STEP Series – Session 01: Mastering Interviews with Personal Branding” on the 21st of August 2025 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. The event was organized by the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (CIPM) and LED KLN.

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya conducted the "AI Aptitude Accelerator" Workshop on the 18th of June 2025, from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. at the CGU Auditorium.It was organized in collaboration with the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) and LEO KLN. 

The third day of the USBUS Mobile American Space workshop series was successfully held on June 3, 2025, at the Social Sciences Auditorium. The program began with "STEM for Youth" presented by Ms. Olivia Mitchel offering an inspiring introduction to science and technology for young minds. 

The second day of the USBUS Mobile American Space workshop series was held on 2nd June 2025 at the Social Sciences Auditorium. The program featured an engaging session titled "Everyday English by English Fellows," conducted by Mr. Kevin Anderson and Ms. Judith Cockrell.

The Launching Ceremony of the USBUS – Mobile American Space (MAS) Project was held on the 30th of May 2025 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya. The event was organized by the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with the United States Embassy, Sarvodaya Fusion, and LED KLN.

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya organized a workshop on “Personal Grooming & Etiquette” for undergraduate students from all faculties. The event was held on May 21, 2025, at the CGU Auditorium.

The Faculty of Computing and Technology, in collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya, organized a ‘CV Writing’ workshop for third-year undergraduates preparing to start their internships. The event was held on March 3, 2025, at the Faculty’s auditorium.

The 'CV Writing' and 'Social Etiquette' workshop, organized by the Department of Mass Communication in collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya, was held for the first-year BA (Hons) Mass Communication undergraduates as part of the Communication Skills subject (MACO 22432)(E). The event took place on March 27th at the Social Sciences Faculty Auditorium.

The Youth-Led Green and Inclusive Businesses Programme, organized by the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with the British Council, took place as a two-day event on December 18th and 19th, 2024, at the CGU Auditorium of the University of Kelaniya.

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya conducted a workshop titled “Boost Your Career with Social Etiquette” on the 24th of October 2024 at the CGU Auditorium.

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya, in collaboration with Cargills Ceylon PLC, organized a workshop titled "A Beginner’s Guide to LinkedIn" on October 16, 2024, at the CGU Auditorium.

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya conducted a Personal Development Program on " How to be an Excellent Communicator" for the all undergraduates of the UoK on the 03rd of September 2024 at the CGU Auditorium. The main aim of the workshop was to enhance undergraduate's with communication skills to be excellent communicators.

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya conducted a workshop on "Mental Well-being for Professional Development" for the 1st Year Students of the Department of Industrial Management , Faculty of Science on 09th of April 2024.

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya conducted a workshop on "Importance of Effective Communication and Professional Grooming" for the Level 2 undergraduates of the Department of Mathematics who have enrolled for the PRPL 31922-Professional Placement.
